This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in community, home, or residential care settings, where they provide person-centered support under supervision and as part of a multidisciplinary team. They follow individualised plans to assist people who may need support due to aging, disability, or other factors.
These individuals are accountable for their own work within the scope of their role and responsibilities. They possess a range of practical, technical, and procedural knowledge, along with some theoretical understanding of the concepts and practices necessary for delivering person-centered support. The skills gained through this qualification must be applied in compliance with relevant Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian standards, and industry codes of practice.
To complete this qualification, candidates must have completed a minimum of 120 hours of work as outlined in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.

To apply for the Certificate III in Individual Support at Montford International College, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Be at least 18 years of age.
*Note: Other English language tests such as PTE and TOEFL may be accepted, provided the results are equivalent to an IELTS 6.0. Montford International College offers the VET English Placement Test for prospective international students from Assessment level 1 and 2 countries. The test evaluates intermediate-level writing, grammar and reading skills. These assessments are free of charge and must be taken prior to commencing your studies. Your authorised Montford International College Education Agent will oversee the testing process. Please be aware that test results cannot be used as official evidence of language proficiency.
Course-Specific Entry Requirements: Students are required to have satisfactorily completed a minimum of six months of study in Australia in a field with some relevance to this course. Relevance will be determined on a case-by-case basis, taking into account previous study, current work experience, and other related factors
Additionally, a pre-enrolment assessment will be conducted to evaluate the applicant’s current skills, LLND abilities, vocational experience, course expectations, and any support needs

This qualification will be delivered over 26 weeks in total and 4 weeks dedicated to placement for a total of 120 hours of work placement.
This qualification is delivered through Classroom Blended Learning, combining classroom sessions, self-study, work placements, and assessments, both at home and in a simulated workplace environment.

Upon completing this course, students may choose to further their studies with the CHC43021 Certificate IV in Disability or explore other related community services qualifications.
Graduates may pursue various employment opportunities, including roles such as Senior Personal Care Assistant, Care Assistant, Accommodation Support Worker, Residential Support Worker, Community House Worker, Residential Care Worker, Care Worker, Client Assistant, Care Service Employee, Planned Activity Assistant, and Residential Aide
International students are required to maintain satisfactory progress in their course to comply with visa conditions. More information is available in the International Student Handbook, which also details the support provided to international students.
After a student’s enrolment application is accepted, they will receive a Letter of Offer, a Written Agreement, and a Tax Invoice for any outstanding fees. It is important for students to carefully review all of the provided materials, as they contain essential details regarding the course.
Once the signed acceptance of the offer and the written agreement are returned, a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) letter will be issued.
The first day of each course will include an Orientation and Induction session. This will provide valuable information on topics such as the campus facilities, living in Australia, how to access available support services, and strategies for succeeding in the course, including maintaining satisfactory academic progress.
